for the ones based in britain only the "few" were invited to attend the agm .they received their new grey bible and the rumor was that the new bible will not be available for the rest of the congragations until january .it was confirmed tonight .a letter was read as local announcement that the new bibles will not be available until the end of january for the rest of the congragation .all the in crowd were sat there with their new flashy bible looking smug.also the bible reading was read from the new bible to make it all the more obvious ..... the real aftermath of agm....

i didn't go to the agm nor was i invited .i didn't go to the sunday meeting either.i received a text though from a long standing ministerial servant that echoes the sentiment in my congragation at least.he was present at the meeting.no elder was there and all parts ,watchtower and public talk were handled by ministerial servants.he was incensed that he was not invited allthough he's been a servant for many years and always volunteered at the assemblies etc.

the absense of all these elders was very noticable .most of the congragation was uninformed for the "dog & ponny show" (sorry agm) and the reason i think was that they were embarrased to admit that only they were going to go.but the most upsetting thing for many is that only the ones that went to the agm got the new bible ,the rest will have to wait till january when the first supply arrives at the congragation.

also many have found out that the instruction is that the new bible has to be used from the congragation straight away at the meetings and field service .imagine the embarrasment to be sitting next to the in crowd with their new flashy bible !.

so far ( it is early days) the first Bibles will be distributed next year .Only the ones that attented the AGM will have one immmediately.Anyone here from the UK? Do you have any more uptodate info?

I think ,what we are witnessing here ladies and gentlemen is the creation of two classes among the rank & file which exposes the GB 'S mind set of "divide & conquer" the INS and the OUTS ,the exemplary and the week .

What was the aftermath in your congragation? Was there any disatisfaction ? any murmuring? any confusion? Where there any eldrers there ?

Excellent verses ,I will use them in my debates from now on .Not surprisingly the Watchtower Library's comments on these verses are in Watchtower of 1938 which is post-great crowd light,and it would be interesting to see what they said back then

Donations aren't coming in from Western Countries: more confirmation

in talking to sparky the elder today (http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/263862/1/an-elder-called-me-hes-waking-up-and-knew-id-understand-nice-for-him-to-have-a-friend) i found out he did the accounts for our congregation for years.

he said very rarely did the congregation meet its expenses without some well-off brother chipping in a few grand here and there.

the elders would also make up the shortfall.

As previously mentioned, the society is not becoming poorer .All theis operations are financed by the rank and file either money or voluntary work .They are very well off ,there's no money going down EVER ,it is always the other way around...

A possible scenario :The fall of the REAL BABYLON the GREAT

we all know how heavily indoctrinated is the average jw .in fact there is nothing that will prove to him/her that the gb is not god's channel or is there ?.

think about the following scenario that today seems possible and logical to happen in the near future : the watchtower is constantly telling us that in the future the start of the great tribulation will be the fall of babylon the great (that is the all false religion including so called christian denominations) then there will be an attack on god's people but what if the exact opposite is true ?.

the scenario : due to upcoming court cases conscerning pedophilia and other scandals the society goes bust and shuts operations as a corporation worldwide... and then nothing happens .the life continues as usual ,babylon the great is still standing and all other religions continue operation as they had before .also all jehovah's witnesses remain unaffected by their goverments without persecution or other impliccations.what would that tell the average jw?

Watchtower disappearing off the map without any indication of Babylon the Great's fall in sight or any implications for them ?

QUESTIONS:

Is this scenario possible?
Would all other Christian Churches laugh at the fall of the organisation that predicted their own end ?
Would that awake the average JW?(REMEMBER NO PERSECUTION NO PANIC ATTACK SCENARIOS IN THEIR MIND)
Would that loosen the grip of this vile organisation on its people?

i had been wondering over the past few years whether there really was a historical jesus at all, until a few months ago when i read bart ehrman's latest book "did jesus exist?

" initially i was persuaded by his argument that the nt contains multiple sources that testify to jesus' existence.

but more recently i have been reading the christ myth position of richard carrier and his responses to ehrman.

@SLIMBOYFAT ,isn't "Ascention of Isaiah"a late second century apocryphal text made up from different sources with an unknown author ?Can that be used as evidence for historicity of Jesus or more likely as a Gnostic apocrypha document of short?
